Horse Rescue Training Provided to Hamilton Firefighters

The Hamilton Fire Department’s mission is to prevent and minimize the loss of life and property – and that includes the lives of horses.

On Saturday, the department participated in an equine rescue training sponsored by Myopia Hunt Club.  The training was conducted by Roger Lauze, the Equine Rescue and Training Manager for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal.

“We also went over an incident that took place a couple of weeks ago at Groton House Farm where a horse had fallen in a trailer,” said Fire Chief Phil Stevens.

Here you can see several photos, which include an equine ambulance, a training horse and instructor Roger Lauze.
