Three More Roads Affected by Tuesday Afternoon Storm

Crews were still working to clear the debris off Route 1A near Hamilton Regional High School, as of 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Moulton Street also remained closed and the section of Cutler Road closest to Bay Road was also closed, between Bay Road (Route 1A) and Rock Maple Avenue, all because of either trees and/or wires down, according to Hamilton DPW Director Bill Redford.

The outer section of Asbury Street was also closed because trees were down on both the Hamilton and Topsfield end of the road.

A part of Sagamore Street was also closed between Blueberry Lane and the Ipswich town line, as of 7 p.m.

This is in addition to earlier closures, all because of the strong thunderstorm that moved through Hamilton just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

“We have a contractor crew working on the more problematic issues and another contractor crew will be in (on Wednesday) to clear and cut what still is needed to make things safe,” Redford said.
