The new pool planned at Patton Park will be discussed before the Hamilton Planning Board for the first time on Tuesday night.
Sean Timmons, the Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Director, will make the presentation. He will have a “fairly quick and informal” presentation about the pool’s proposed site plan, buildings and materials.
“The hope is by having this initial discussion and quick presentation, the formal application process will go much smoother,” Timmons said.
The Hamilton Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1 in the Memorial room at Hamilton Town Hall.
Patrick Reffett, Hamilton’s Director of Planning and Inspections, said he expects the Planning Board will hear about where the pool, pool house and parking will be located at Patton Park, since the project now has necessary funding to be constructed.
Timmons said the plan is to demolish the existing pool this fall. Work started a few weeks ago on the pool parking lot.
The project will need site plan approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Planning Board will offer a recommendation about the project to the ZBA and it is important for the Planning Board to also known as much about the project as it can, Reffett said.
A formal application will be submitted in a few weeks and will include some of the feedback from the Planning Board, Timmons said.
