It has not been a library in more than 10 years, but on Wednesday the building officially changed the name on the outside.

Work started Wednesday on the new letters being installed on the Hamilton Senior Center at 299 Bay Road – in front of the Public Safety Building. The new sign is being provided with funding from the Community Preservation Act. The building served as the Hamilton Library until the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library was constructed on Union Street more than a decade ago.

Hamilton Council on Aging Director Mary Beth Lawton thanked the Community Preservation Committee for helping provide a beautiful sign for the Senior Center.
