Crosby’s Market at the Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing has reopened on Tuesday morning after the Hamilton Fire Department was called there on Monday night for a fire in one of the coolers in the bakery department, according to Hamilton Fire Chief Phil Stevens.

Just as the store was closing on Monday night an employee spotted the fire and called the Fire Department at 9:01 p.m.

Another store employee put out the fire with a fire extinguisher before the Fire Department arrived, Stevens said. Firefighters disconnected power to the unit and the Hamilton health inspector was called.  Stevens recalled the alarm at 9:37 p.m. and all of the firefighters were clear from the store by 10 p.m.
