A vision for Hamilton village – the downtown commercial district – will be outlined during a public presentation scheduled for early October.
The presentation – which will not be a formal public hearing, as had been publicized in some spots – is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1 from 7-9 p.m. at Hamilton-Wenham Public Library.
The Hamilton-Wenham League of Women Voters has organized the presentation, which will be put on by members of the Hamilton Development Corp. and include information about the vision for the future of the Hamilton and Wenham village area around the commuter rail station.
There will also be information presented about a proposed bylaw change that will go before voters at Hamilton’s Special Town Meeting on Nov. 7 that would allow for mixed uses in the business district.
The plans for the future of the downtown area build on various studies and planning initiatives that involved residents, business owners and relevant town boards from both Hamilton and Wenham. Attendees at the Oct. 1 presentation will learn about opportunities for enhancing the village area including the recently crafted Design Guidelines and the proposed bylaw change.
