The gazebo in Patton Park will be lit on Thursday night, Dec. 3 as part of a series of holiday-related events in and around downtown Hamilton.
A community carol sing will also happen on Thursday night as part of the festivities, which also include lighting the People’s United Bank Christmas tree. Children are asked to bring a flashlight or glowsticks for the tree and gazebo lighting.
The carol sing is an annual tradition hosted by the Community House of Hamilton-Wenham that will feature holiday favorites. It is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to all.
It starts with local residents Brian Doser, Peter Stewart and Joe Scuderi leading everyone singing carols. Booklets of carols will be provided. After singing, cocoa and cookies will be served before the gazebo at Patton Park and the downtown Christmas Tree are both lit.
At the same time, many of the business in the downtown are hosting their opening night stroll as part of the weekend-long Christmas in the Villages celebration. The businesses plan to serve food and drink, have caroling, special sales and prizes.
