Follow-up tests on water samples from the town’s School Street well have come back negative for E.coli, according to Hamilton DPW Director Bill Redford.
“That’s great,” he said.
On Jan. 6, Hamilton water users were notified that raw, untreated water at an offline town well had tested positive for E. coli.
The well was already offline at the time of the test and was pumped briefly to collect the sample, but additional samples needed to be taken.
Now that the follow-up tests have come back negative, no further action is anticipated at this time, Redford said.
