Get Details About Parking, Road Closures for Two Town Community Block Party

patriotic bikeAnticipate traffic congestion along Route 1A (Bay Road) during the Two Town Community Block Party on Saturday, when you will also not be able to park along the road.

Those are just a few of the things that the Hamilton Police Department plan to do to manage the crowds at the event on Saturday.

Residents that are headed to the event are encouraged to park at Winthrop Elementary School and side streets in the area if not posted “no parking.” Route 1A near Patton Park will be posted “no parking” before the event begins. A large section of the Asbury Street parking lot at Patton Park will be for handicapped parking.

The gravel road entering the park from Asbury Street will be blocked to traffic at the tennis courts and be used as emergency access.

Specifically for the bike parade, which will start at 4 p.m. at Hamilton-Wenham Public Library, there will be temporary street closures along the parade route. The parade will head up Union Street to Asbury Street and take a right on Asbury Street to Patton Park. A Hamilton police officer will assist on bike patrol.
