Green Communities LogoHamilton has been awarded a $250,000 Green Communities grant to go toward a HVAC controls upgrade at Miles River Middle School and Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, according to Victoria Masone, energy manager for the towns of Hamilton and Wenham.

It was part of $9,580,467 in competitive grants awarded this week as part of the Green Communities program to a total of 47 municipalities across Massachusetts to fund clean energy projects, according to state Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Matthew Beaton.

The Hamilton award was in combination with a $249,950 award to Wenham as the result of a project plan and application by Masone. The combined middle school-high school complex will have its classroom HVAC integrated with the Building Automation System as an energy conservation measure.
