Pleasant Pond Stickers Available to Hamilton Residents

Pleasant Pond Beach viewThe heat is moving in and Hamilton residents are reminded that they can use the Pleasant Pond Recreation Area this summer with the purchase of a sticker.

You can find a sticker application online at the Town of Wenham website.

The stickers are available to Hamilton residents that own or rent in Hamilton. The charge is $25 for the first vehicle and $10 for each additional vehicle. There is a reduced rate of $10 for residents age 65 and older, with no charge for additional stickers.

To get a sticker, show your vehicle registration with a Hamilton address at the Wenham Police station, 1 Friend St. in Wenham (next to the fire station and across from Town Hall), or at the Town Clerk’s office on the first floor of Wenham Town Hall, 138 Main St.

The beach, at the end of Pleasant Street in Wenham, can also be accessed by a path from Lake Drive in Hamilton. The sticker cover the parking area at the end of Pleasant Street and does not cover the spaces reserved for fishermen from any community with a valid state fishing license.

The 43-acre pond sits in both Hamilton and Wenham and has an average depth of 20 feet. It is up to 45 feet deep in the middle. The park, which includes a parking area, beach, boat launch, picnic tables and a grassy area, is on the west end of the pond right along the Hamilton-Wenham town line. It is open to residents from Hamilton and Wenham with a valid parking sticker.

Revenue from the sticker fee goes to cover the cost of a gatekeeper at the parking lot.

The beach is open daily during the summer. Pets, open fires, alcoholic beverages and smoking are all prohibited at the beach.
