BOAT 510 010.JPGThe Hamilton Fire Department has a new boat. The boat, motor and trailer comes from the U.S. Coast

Guard at no cost to the town, via the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation Forest Fire Control and the Federal Excess Property Program.

The boat is worth $23,000, according to Fire Chief Phil Stevens.

The Fire Department mechanic went through the boat and it was taken out on Chebacco Lake last week for a test run. The boat will be used for water rescues and other water incidents, according to Stevens, and will also be available to the Police Department for patrols.
