Turnout Below 10% Helps Narrow Field for County Sheriff

usa-806576_960_720Hamilton voters backed Democrat Ed O’Reilly and Republican Anne Manning-Martin for Essex County Sheriff in the only contested race on Thursday’s primary election ballot.

Turnout was 7 percent in Hamilton, according to unofficial results from Town Clerk Andrea Carlson, with 380 voters going to the polls.

U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton and Governor’s Councilor Eileen Duff were on the Democratic ballot. State Sen. Bruce Tarr and state Rep. Brad Hill were on the Republican ballot along with Governor’s Council candidate Richard Baker.
