The Hamilton Finance and Advisory Committee is seeking a new member to fill an open position.
The committee gathers information, cooperates with other town representatives and officers, and meets regularly, usually in the evening, to consider any or all municipal questions and then makes reports or recommendations to the town. The committee’s interests and activities go well beyond fiscal and budget topics, according to Chairman David Wanger.
The committee currently consists of all males so female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Accounting or financial expertise is not required.
Recently, the committee has spent time reviewing the Patton Homestead, affordable housing, Hamilton’s relationship to the regional school district, town bylaws, Hamilton’s relationships with neighboring communities and other issues relating to Hamilton, according to Wanger.
Interested Hamilton residents should fill out an “application for appointment to board/committee membership” form available online or get a hard copy from Anabela Batista, assistant to the Town Manager, on the first floor of Hamilton Town Hall. Completed forms can be dropped off at the Town Hall or sent via email to Batista at firstname.lastname@example.org.
