The Hamilton Department of Public Works is looking for some seasonal employees for the summer.
The positions are for 12 weeks starting on May 15 and the pay is $12 per hour. The jobs will include typical seasonal DPW work, including maintenance of parks, cemeteries and municipal buildings.
All candidates need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Employees will also have to pass a background check and drug screening.

A permitted fire got out of control on Sagamore Street on Friday afternoon, according to Fire Chief Philip Stevens.
The fire department responded to 175 Sagamore St. at about 2:30 p.m. In addition to Hamilton firefighters, Essex Engine 1 also helped battle the fire. Firefighters also got help from a Hamilton DPW backhoe. In addition to the brush, the fire also damaged a shed on the property, Stevens said.
Firefighters used water from the fire hydrant on Sagamore Street near Blueberry Lane, which may cause some brown water in the area.
Compost will be available for Hamilton residents starting on Tuesday, April 11.
The compost will be behind Hamilton Town Hall on the right side before the gate into the DPW yard.
There will be a limit of two five gallon buckets per person.
Additional loads are expected later this year but the exact amount is unknown right now. Further updates will be posted as new information is available.
A winter storm parking ban will run from Tuesday morning through midday Wednesday in Hamilton, according to Town Manager Michael Lombardo.
It will go into effect on Tuesday, March 14 at 6 a.m. and last until 12 noon on Wednesday, March 15.
No on-street parking is allowed during the ban and any vehicle left unattended on a public way or parked so that it inhibits snow removal can be towed, at the owner’s expense. Violators can also be issued a $20 citation. The only exceptions to the ban are for fire, police, public works and utility repair vehicles.
Another week and it is another delay for trash pickup in Hamilton. This time it is because of the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 20
Trash, recycling and organics collection will be delayed by a day this week. Trash pickup will start on Thursday, Feb. 23 and run through Saturday, Feb. 25 in Hamilton.
If your usual pickup day is Wednesday it will instead be Thursday and pickup will be pushed back by a day for the rest of the week.

Casella Waste Systems suspended trash pickup on Thursday in Hamilton before it was completed.
All of the trash that was scheduled for pick up on Thursday but was not picked up will be picked up on Friday, said DPW Director Tim Olson. Regularly scheduled Friday pickup will also happen, Olson said.
