Gas Work in One Neighborhood Could Mean Detours, Delays

Howard Street work croppedResidents in the area of Naples Road and Howard Street should expect cause some minor detours and delays in their neighborhood during the next few weeks.

National Grid will be doing gas utility work in the area during the next two weeks, according to Hamilton police Lt. Scott Janes. Residents may be rerouted or experience minor traffic delays during the project, Janes said.


Bridge to be Down to One Lane Starting Monday

bridge street sign leftThe bridge over the Miles River on Bridge Street will be reduced to one lane starting Monday, July 11.

A contractor will be replacing the bridge and culvert. A temporary traffic light will be installed to control traffic flow, according to Hamilton police Lt. Scott Janes.

Trench Across Essex Street Could Cause Delays This Week

road work aheadThere will be a trench dug across Essex Street this week, so drivers can expect slight delays at times, according to the Department of Public Works.

The work is being done by a Hamilton Water Department crew in order to install water service for a new home, according to DPW Director Bill Redford.

The work is being done on Essex Street in Hamilton near the Essex town line, where a police detail will be in place when the work is being done. The work is expected to continue for a few days this week and traffic will likely be impacted at times during working hours from 7:30 am to 4 p.m., Redford said.
