The positions are for 12 weeks starting on May 15 and the pay is $12 per hour. The jobs will include typical seasonal DPW work, including maintenance of parks, cemeteries and municipal buildings.

All candidates need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Employees will also have to pass a background check and drug screening.

pool-newIt is not too early to thinking about a summer job next year, and the Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Department is advertising for several positions at the new Veterans Memorial Pool.

The Rec Department is accepting applications for pool supervisors, lifeguards and gate attendants, according to Recreation Director Sean Timmons.

Rec Department Now Hiring for Pool Staff, Including Lifeguards

lifesaver-24966_960_720Pool staff is now being hired for the brand new Veterans Memorial Pool at Patton Park, which will open this summer.

The open positions include Pool Director, Pool Supervisor and lifeguards.

The seasonal position of Pool Director will start in mid to late June for pre-season responsibilities and the pool season will run into early September. The official opening date of the pool hasn’t been confirmed yet because of the ongoing construction.

The Pool Supervisor will work with the Pool Director managing the day-to-day supervision of lifeguards, park and public swim lessons, pool maintenance and in-service lifeguard training.

There are also full-time and part-time lifeguard positions available.

Town of Hamilton Hiring DPW Workers This Summer

The town of Hamilton is hiring this summer.

Department of Public Works

The Department of Public Works has some full-time, temporary seasonal positions open. The job will involve a variety of public works tasks that are typically completed in the summer, including maintaining town parks, cemeteries, grounds and municipal buildings plus other related duties. The new hires will perform maintenance of town streets, sidewalks, storm sewers, parks, park buildings, public restrooms, landscaping and trees, plus perform minor carpentry and painting.

The jobs will start on about May 15 and run for about 12 weeks, with 40-hour work weeks. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old and have a valid driver’s license. Preferred candidates will have experience in general maintenance and/or parks maintenance.

The pay will be at least $10 per hour and will be commensurate with experience. Successful candidates will be required to pass a background check, driving record check and drug screening and they may be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings during the course of employment.
