Trash, recycling and organics collection will start on Thursday, April 20 and run through Saturday, April 22 in Hamilton.

If your usual pickup day is Wednesday it will instead be Thursday and pickup will be pushed back by a day for the rest of the week.

Trash, recycling and organics collection will start on Thursday, March 16 and run through Saturday, March 18.

If your usual pickup day is Wednesday it will instead be Thursday and pickup will be pushed back by a day for the rest of the week.

Blue Trash Bags to be Available Soon at Cumby’s

Garbage bagCumberland Farms in Hamilton will become the third store where you can buy blue trash bags, starting on Friday, March 10.

This is in addition to Crosby’s Marketplace in the Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing and Aubuchon Hardware on Enon Street in North Beverly.

Large blue trash bags are $2.50 per bag and small bags are $1.50 per bag. Blue trash bags must be used when you have more than one full trash can each week.

Storm Means Trash Pickup to be Delayed By a Day This Week

hamiltontrashTrash pickup will be delayed by one day this week in Hamilton because of Monday’s snowstorm, according to Police Chief and Acting Town Manager Russell Stevens.

The delay includes trash, recycling and organics pickup and will be done similar to the schedule on a week where there is a Monday holiday. Pickup will run from Thursday through Saturday in Hamilton for Feb. 16-18. If your usual pickup day is Wednesday it will instead be Thursday and pickup will be pushed back by a day for the rest of the week.

Hamilton Town Hall Closed Thursday, Trash Pickup to Happen

Hamilton Town HallHamilton Town Hall will be closed on Thursday because the forecast calls for a significant  snowstorm.

All non-emergency employees have been instructed to stay home and the state Department of Transportation has also asking motorists to stay at home, said Acting Town Manager and Police Chief Russell Stevens.

Trash pickup will happen as scheduled, according to the town’s trash contractor, Casella Waste Systems. Pickup will only be halted or delayed if the storm prevents pickup, according to DPW Director Tim Olson. If pickup ends up being delayed, further updates will be issued.

A parking ban will also be in effect from 6 a.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday.
