A boil water order will be in effect in Hamilton when water service returns, according to Town Manager Michael Lombardo.
As of 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, Lombardo said it would be at least several more hours before water service is restored after a water main break occurred on Saturday afternoon.
Once water pressure is restored, the water will need to be tested and it won’t be until at least Tuesday or Wednesday – at the earliest – that the town water will get an OK, Lombardo said.
Can a person shower when water is restored, can toilets be flushed?? Thus Boil Water to use to drink, to cook with- please be more precise with how to use water until Tues or Wed ?????

Yes, flushing the toilet is fine. Water will need to be boiled to drink and cook and please use your good judgement with showers. There is detailed answers to these questions and more from the state Department of Environmental Protection here: http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/massdep/water/drinking/boil-water-order-faq.html

This is ridiculous! Some people have newborn children and need water to wash dishes, hands, shower, drink etc. we can boil all we need but water must be available first!
